it's friday & i've not done the flowers

i am so bowled over by the amazing job that's being done on our house.
hard to describe but there was a certain finish that in some parts was impossible to keep because it was flaking off.  But, my goodness they found a textured paint to match and layered it on and it's perfect.

this is all in preparation for my brother's 70th at the end of the month.
said brother told our parents that he was happy for them to pass the family home to me because I would love it and he could never see himself living here.  he is kind, wise, and very generous.  

it always upsets and bemuses me when there are articles in the newspapers about siblings fighting over Wills, and makes me so thankful for the way we were brought up.
