Brown Argus
Since we arrived home from Sussex it's been raining fairly continuously, but at least this gave me a chance to catch up with data entry, photo processing and washing!
This morning I went for a damp amble round Old Sulehay NR. Despite overcast skies it was pleasantly warm and there were plenty of insects around including a recent emergence of Brown Argus butterflies, with at least ten seen along Mucky Ride.
The damp weather has really benefited the flowers, which were abundant everywhere - Marjoram in the quarry with Nettle-leaved Bellflower and Greater Burnet-saxifrage along the woodland ride.
