Emergency Blip: Apple Pie
Our little Gravenstein tree is starting to drop fruit, and this is the first pie of the season. It’s worth waiting a year for, if I do say so myself!
Last night we went to see an outdoor performance of King Lear by our local Shakespeare company. I do not remember the last time I was out at night, drove home in the dark, saw the moon, or stayed up past 11 pm, much less all of those at once. When we pulled in the driveway, the car lights reflected off two bright eyes behind the picket fence—a big fat raccoon making his evening rounds. Clearly there’s more to the world than I thought.
