The garage rang me this afternoon to say that they had fixed the coolant leak which required new core plugs on the water-cooled turbo. These were specially made at a local engineering workshop at a cost of £40.
Ford do not sell 14 mm core plugs. Had I taken it to the main dealer they would have just replaced the turbo which costs £814 + VAT.
Labour, pressure testing and replacement coolant added another £300 to the bill.
I am just happy to get the car back and took it on a road test to Rhyl.
