Bonzo and Doris
Today's forecast was for rain, and unfortunately it was right. Just damp in the morning, but this afternoon was an absolute wash out as far as festival trading was concerned.
Very few potential customers around by late afternoon, nothing for it but to walk across to watch Bonzo and Doris (near enough to keep an eye on the stall at the same time). They were hilarious, and the few children at the front of the audience were in fits of laughter. So were the adults!
Traders were contracted to stay on site until midnight, but the weather was so awful that this year none of them did. After we'd eaten, and I'd sampled a last delicious pint of cider (called Panking Pole(!) for the record), I helped MrM to pack up the stall and load the van. Just before 10.00pm we'd said our goodbyes, and we're home just after midnight.
No point in trying to unpack the van in pouring rain, so we just left it and went in to bed, at the end of a long day.
