Fleeting glimpse
Normally when we visit Glenarm in summer, watching swallows, swifts and housemartins here is a real treat - and an opportunity to try to get some good shots of them in flight. As the local river flows into the sea near the harbour, there's a place where they often dip down to drink, and this can be a great place to watch them.
Well, the post-op recovery period hasn't been the time to get out and about with the long lens. But R and I did pause by the river today, in our regular walk circuit. R carried the camera bag for me. It was pretty cold and blustery, but there were a few dark shapes skimming over the water at intervals. Resting the camera on a convenient bridge parapet made a few attempted shots possible.
This one's nothing to write home about. It's not a monochrome conversion either; today's been a pretty monochrome day :-) But just making the attempt has been another little step forward.
