A Tour Of Orkney Mainland.

Orkney Mainland is the first of our three Island adventures.

We had decided to take a coach tour combined with the Pentland Venture Ferry. All went according to plan and we visited the Italian Chapel. A remarkable place of worship made by Italian Prisoners of War. We were all very moved entering this space which is shown in two of the extras.

We also Kirkwall and St Magnus Cathedral which is shown in an extra. The timetable allowed for individual exploration of both Kirkwall and Stromness. Both very welcoming and comfortable towns.

Yes, the pick-up truck is made of stone. See extra. The tour also included the Ring of Brodgar and the Standing Stones of Steness.

Our Bus driver and guide was very knowledgeable and gave an entertaining and informative story to accompany our journey.

The ferry journey there and back was made in calm seas and clear skies.
