Having the Blues

I may not have been in the sea today but I have waded through puddles and rain that were taking no prisoners to become soaked through to the skin, certainly on my legs. 
I had an early visit to the chiropodist and the only way is to walk across the Meadows with the east wind pelting me with rain both there and back. 

The bad news was I had to do the walk plus some again this afternoon to my book group meeting. The book is - Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. It was a bit of a dèja  vue scenario for me but a hilarious read (I thought!) and had me laughing out loud. I had hoped the rain would have  abated somewhat this afternoon but no luck and with wind gusts added it was a particularly uncomfortable sortie. However all was forgotten when we all met. The book was discussed, cake was eaten and tea drunk and 3 hours later the rain had stopped making for a dry walk home.


The cherry on the cake was that it was my book choice and everyone enjoyed it. Success!
