WHAT A DAHLIA!!!!!

Well I had little sleep last night, this was only because having gone out onto our garden on Monday I seem to have got two ENORMOUS bites and they were so vicious last night and so very hot.  They are not the bubbles I had some years ago (well not yet anyway) but they're just as vicious with the itchiness, so much so that they hurt a bit too!!!

Hopefully they will be gone within a few days!!!

Anyway we went to the Furness General Hospital day for Hubby's Consultant's appointment  We are only just a little further forward really.

Just so you know and this is only for this group as you are all amazing and I thank you so much for all your supportive messages from yesterday, which are so much appreciated.

Only a family and small handful of special friends know.  Hubby has an AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm.  It has been kept an eye on for some time but has now grown to the stage that it needs to be operated on.

Today's appointment was to see the Consultant and for him to explain it all to us.  We only saw him for about 10 minutes and he didn't tell us too much more than I already know but it is a step forward. Hubby had to give some bloods today then he has to go back to Barrow for some other test, we can't remember what, then he will have to go to Preston for heart and lungs check.  After that he will see us again, probably in Preston.  Hubby then has to decide whether to go for the very invasive surgery or the less invasive sort of keyhole surgery.  The surgery will take place in Preston.  He explained the advantages and disadvantages of both, but it has to be Hubby's decision!!!!

So we are still playing the waiting game.  Hoping that all this will take place within the next 2 to 3 weeks as in the meantime the darn thing is still growing, albeit slowly (so far anyway).

I'm just letting you all know as you are so supportive and it will explain why I've been somewhat stressed and anxious lately.

To cheer us up after all this we stopped off at Charnley's in Dalton (a furniture and garden place) which has a great cafe.  We had their daily special, which today was Cantonese-style Chicken with rice, chips and prawn crackers.  All very delicious.  To be honest for preference I could easily have forgone the chips and just may do with the rice - in fact I left quite a lot of the chips and I hate being wasteful

Now home getting ready for Mum's pre 92nd Birthday lunch tomorrow..

That's all for now, do take care and stay safe.
