The 50th Anniversary of the Summerland Fire
I photographed the tragic Summerland fire in Douglas on the Isle of Man.The Manx fire service, emergency and health care staff all worked tirelessly to treat and support those injured in the blaze. There were 3,000 people in the leisure complex that evening, sadly 50 people lost their lives.
My photograph was used in media outlets including ITN and BBC news coverage at the time. My thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost love ones and the many survivors.
The Summerland Rembrance garden is situated in Douglas and will be viasted today by many people who recall the results of the tragedy which will never be forgotten.
