Postcard from Wetzlar

Packed the car, tidied the flat, dumped the recycling, said hello and cheerio to the new neighbours who were moving in next door, then we were off. Five and a bit hours later and we were in Wetzlar and thank goodness for the TomTom that did an emergency diversion when the autobahn was closed completely just five minutes ahead because of a crash or else we’d have been stuck for hours longer! Anyway, it’s pretty cold and raining on and off but we found a beergarden on our wanders to enjoy while the sun briefly graced us with its presence. Less luck finding somewhere to eat that wasn’t an Italian or a pizzeria (traditional German restaurants are few and far between these days) but we eventually found somewhere that was OK. Pretty done in so it’s an early night.
