Victorian Splendour
Edinburgh galleries trip today and we all had a good day.
Weather was superb and we all sat outside in glorious sunshine to have our lunch.
The Samuel Peploe exhibition at the Dean was superb
(lots of superlatives today)
and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
I have blipped a photograph of the interior of the refurbished
Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
A Victorian, Puginesque Gothic Revivalist structure,
designed by the architect Sir Robert Rowand Anderson.
The restoration work is superb and the murals and ceilings of the central atrium sparkle with rich colour combinations and gold.
