Old and new technology.

Clearing out and refurbishing my garage continues, a wet day job. My modern drills / screwdrivers; wonderful tools. And my late father’s old brace and bit. The hand brace works at human speed, and feel, with or without the ratchet. The 4 sided drill is held in place by crocodile jaws in the shell (chuck). You’re guaranteed neat holes every time; drill has snail tip to draw bit into wood. I’ve a box of his bits, up to 1” size.
I’ve fond memories of my father using this tool make joints for my bedroom furniture and chairs. Modern Drill driver will comfortably drill holes, this is good for bigger diameter holes. The brace and bit is great in terms of torque. Can also be used for screwing I understand.
