St Peter, Ilmer

Mum suggested a visit to a Craft Fair in Ilmer today, sadly she must have misread the information as there was nothing going on in Ilmer, but it was a beautiful day and St Peter is a lovely little Church so we had a wander round and went home. Mum phoned me later to say the Fair was in Owlswick, a small village about 3 miles from Ilmer :)

As you can see it has a very attractive Bell Turret which houses 3 bells hung for swing chiming, the 2nd being cast 1586 and the tenor bell cast C1500. The Church is of stone and dates from C13 restored in 1859.
