Ooops there it is...

...a Red Admiral on the Butterfly Bush...

One of the first things I saw when I popped into the garden to hang the towels out to dry! There were Cabbage Whites and Tortoiseshells too - but no Peacocks as yet...

Also did an inspection of the vegetable garden - see extras - everything is flourishing ;) 

A quick walk round the res at about 6pm. Merlin tells us we heard Willow Warblers and Goldfinches, among others, and we saw the Grebe family and the Heron doing the rounds too. The Grebes were fascinating to watch, as the little ones alternately chased the parents or tried to hitch a lift - noisy bunch!
