Homeward bound
So I woke up feeling okay but it didn't last. I was instructed to just sit around and watch everybody else pack up the camp...oh dear! Travelling was nice to just watch everything pass by but by the time we reached Wildebeest Camp where we were going to kill a few hours before the flight, I was taking paracetamol and ibuprofen to try and alleviate my headaches. I just dozed in the shade and missed out on a pizza takeaway that we ordered (looked and smelled sooooo nice...). I also met a rather odd character who seemed to take a liking to me...not the best!
When we got to the airport, I ended up fainting at customs but a lovely gentleman who was also flying to Heathrow said he would take me (and a teacher) as his guest to the First Class lounge where it was a lot cooler for me. That was nice of him, but I looked a total mess in there compared to all of the business men! We got on the plane and all I wanted to do was sleep, but I ended up being ill throughout most of the flight, counting down the 8 hours to Heathrow! Luckily we didn't have to wait long for our flight to Newcastle but with it being 5am, me not having had more than a few hours sleep for over 24 hours and being so close to home...I just wanted to get there!
Getting home to my bed was the best - I snuggled up with Inca and a heater on (as we had no heating and it was snowing!) and slept for the weekend. I missed a few days of school too but I did drag myself in for a trip to Edinburgh Zoo and for one day at school but ended up spending quite a few more days at home. After trips to the doctors, it transpired that we had been ill with cryptosporidium...not the nicest thing to have, I can assure you.
I have made a photobook, which is viewable in PDF format but also ebook for free, that you can have a look at in order to see more of my photos accompanied by text if that interests any of you!
