Aquatic gardens

Today I took mom to DC’s aquatic gardens. It’s a 280 ha space devoted to water lilies, lotus flowers and various iterations of marshes. The lotus flowers and lilies are in bloom through the summer and just beautiful — the lotus in particular always seem as though they are illuminated from within (see extra)

Mom was suitably impressed :)
