as bright as the blazing sun

The scientific name for this beauty is Gazania rigens. It is also called New Day Red Stripe, or Big Kiss Yellow Flame. I am drawn to the latter.
These are growing in the flowerbeds at the entrance to our neighborhood and they always knock my socks off when I see them.
