The Waverley at Rothesay

The forecast was right. Wet. We missed being in the 11.05 departure by one car. So we had to wait for next ferry was at 12.15, amply fuelled by coffee.

The bonus was that we were treated to the Waverley docking at Rothesay and good views of the steamer as we left for Wemyss Bay. I’ve include a colour image as an extra. The mono summed up the day, gave a timeless feel and also provided a Mono Monday image although not on theme.

It was a wet drive to North Berwick, a very late lunch and a wet walk along the beach. Two drowned rats eventually arrived back at the car, driving to Dunbar for shopping and fuel.

The final hour to Seahouses was largely uneventful except for some roadworks on the A1 near Holy Island. The Airbnb is very acceptable. We have a day here before the family arrive in the evening. It wouldn’t surprise us if they changed their mind as the forecast is not that good and they’re camping (and caravanning near Bamburgh
