Pala Mission

My wife has been on a mission to visit all the California Missions for some time now. The one in Pala is not one of the 21 recognized main missions, it is a sub-mission of San Luis Rey, so our expectations were somewhat low. It turns out it was more interesting than some of the larger ones we have visited and that was with the museum and gardens being closed. We will definitely be returning on a Saturday to view those areas as well. This bell tower is a copy of one in Ciudad Juarez and distinctive because it is completely separate from the church building located to the right of the crosses in the foreground.
