Let It Bleed
Mrs C wanted to print out one of the photos she took at the Steam Gathering yesterday, but I hadn’t cleared all the plain paper out of the printer, so the first attempt resulted in glossy photo paper quantities of ink being projected onto a flimsy piece of A4. Of course, it looked horrible but, when I took it through to the kitchen to get rid of it, I put it face down on the worktop, which happened to be damp, and immediately a mirror image of the photo started to bleed through. I thought it looked quite arty, so snapped a photo before putting the soggy piece of paper in the bin. I’m pleased to report that when the picture was reprinted on the proper paper, it came out perfectly.
And it’s not the only bleeding that happened today. I had an appointment to have some extracted prior to my diabetic review. The first stab at a vein didn’t produce any more than a trickle but the nurse’s second attempt was a lot more successful. A bit too successful possibly, judging by how fast she was filling up the sample tubes!
I had a feeling that the results might not be very good so went to the gym afterwards as a bit of a guilt trip. It seems I was right to be worried as I received a text from the surgery later in the afternoon saying my blood sugar levels were double what they should be - oops!
I now have a three line whip to attend the follow up appointment in August and must cut out as much sugar and carbs as possible from my diet in the meantime. It probably wouldn’t hurt either to see if my knackered joints have recovered enough from various recent sprains and strains to start running again.
And there I was thinking I was quite fit and healthy when I got up this morning!
