Landscape
Retail is in a dire state. The landscape has been changing for a few years but since the pandemic locked everyone in their houses for months on end it's accelerated. Even online retailers are suffering but it's the high street that's the worst. Increased prices - often driven by supply rather than the end seller, parking apps that noone can use, a public transport system that never seems to run to the right place at the right time and in a lot of cases sheer lethargy and the reluctance to get out of the sofa to go shopping have killed it.
There used to be a House of Fraser here, before the demolition crews moved in a couple of months ago. I couldn't work out what was different as I walked past until I realised the jack hammers had stopped and there was light.
I had an OK day. Work, smoked salmon sandwich for lunch, a bit more work, gym and possibly chilli for tea. So yes. OK.
