WHO KNEW...

...that you would be seeing us again so soon?  And who knew that there was room for so many ducks and such a large bear one one house?

Mr. & Mrs. HCB were invited to visit R & B, some friends for lunch after Church today - after what they said was a great service - and we made sure we hopped into the boot of the car to go with them, because we had heard on the grapevine that there would be LOTS of ducks at this particular house.

Well, we weren’t disappointed and these in the photograph weren’t all of them!  In fact, although it wasn’t Silly Saturday, we think that Admirer would have been giggling a lot to see more than 155 ducks, and one HUGE teddy bear called Bertie, which we understand was a wedding present to the lovely couple who had invited Mr. & Mrs. HCB.

Sadly, we weren’t invited to the lunch, but we understand that it was an excellent lasagne with salad and garlic bread and then Mrs. HCB said that she would only have a small portion of the Rhubarb Crumble and custard because she had spied the Chocolate Cheesecake - and we all know that she is a chocoholic - in fact, she declared it the best Chocolate Cheesecake she had ever tasted!

After lunch, they retired to the lounge when Mr. HCB had a cup of tea and Mrs. HCB had a very large mug of salted caramel hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows - you can see them in the top right of the collage.  We all laughed when B brought in the mug for Mr. HCB that said “Mr. Right” but giggled when Mrs. HCB was presented with the mug that said “Mrs. Always Right”!

Bertie, the wedding present bear, was brought down from upstairs and we do believe he was as big if not bigger than R - but he managed to get him down the stairs without doing any damage.  Then, of course, we all jumped on top of Bertie and had to sit on Donald because he was anxious to start playing with all his duck friends.  We know that Mrs. HCB has difficulty remembering all our names and there are only 23 of us, but just think how much more difficult it must be for R & B to remember the names of 155 ducks - but there was no mistaking the Queen Duck sitting on top of Bertie’s head.

Hope you have all had a good weekend  - Mr. HCB is a little upset that Rain has stopped Play in the cricket, but perhaps it will be a better day tomorrow.

Love from the Silly Saturday Gang, Bertie and numerous Delightful Ducks xxx
