The Kremlin
Well, you can't come to Moscow and not see it can you? For a start it is at the heart of the city and then there are those huge imposing red brick walls, the solid standing towers at the corners and, of course, the golden domes.
Kremlin actually means Russian citadel and this is, undoubtedly, the best known. The historic fortified complex which is the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation overlooks the Moskva River to the south and to the east there is Red Square and St Basil's Cathedral.
Inside the Kremlin there are five palaces and four cathedrals but we will come back to see those another time.
Word of the day: ?????? (pronounced ho-ro-sho) meaning "very good". Proper Russians seem to use this word a couple of hundred times a day!
