Why?

Why couldn't it have been like this last Tuesday when we took our trip on a narrow boat? Then it poured with rain all day and it was cold, today it is sunny and warm. It feels like summer.

Our very kind neighbours treated us to a pub lunch as a thank you for taking in their post while they were away for three weeks. We were supposed to be watering their garden too, but there was no need! Today we had lunch at The Anchor at Pyrford Lock and on this fine day it was very busy inside and also outside, on the terrace beside the Wey Navigation. There were narrow boats and cruisers making their way though the lock, always fun to watch. On the way back we visited the tiny isolated Norman church at Wisley, very simple and unadorned. It is easy to imagine medieval peasants walking up the path to their church.
