Friday, Flowers & Female • A warm sunny day but it wasn’t bad sitting in the shade watching two hummers zoom between milkweed, feeder nectar and a rest stop on a leafless branch in a nearby tree • Thankfully all went well here yesterday ref the thunderstorms. A tornado was confirmed in southwestern NH near where we both grew up. Only tree and electrical line damage • Before buying groceries we stopped by the river for a bit to see what was about. Pretty quiet there, not even a seagull spotted • Our neighbor across the street, one of Louis’s Dads, is painting their picket fence today. He’s out there in the baking sun without a shirt, a cigarette in one hand and a brush in the other. I have staining to do but it’s too hot for me. Next week’s temperatures are significantly cooler.
