British Standard Box?

More a query than a Grumble alert.

I get the idea that - you can't have a box, specific to each item you dispatch - BUT - I'm forced to wonder if this is the smallest Box they dispatch in?
    On the left - the outer box.
    Centre. -  the Box "it" was already in.
    Right  -  the "item".
I didn't bother shooting the packing another - BUT - it was entirely recyclable paper, which looked designed for padding - sort of crushable rectangular "tubes", a couple of which were sufficient to stop the inner Box doing a Highland Fling en route.
