The view!
This is the view from the top of the hill in the village my house is in! Bulgaria is a truly beautiful country! I have well and truly fallen in love with it!
It’s a good job really because the house is barely habitable! I last came in April and only spent a day here. Since then the weeds have grown, the cobwebs increased and the dust grown thicker!
The house really is a renovation project and I think that’s probably what I need. We can be rebuilt together! It will be a long process and hard work but it will be totally worth it in the end.
I almost didn’t come. I don’t think I would have if I hadn’t stayed at my aunts last night and had her drive me to the airport this morning.
I then got to the house and wanted to turn around straightaway. Then I cried because it all felt too much. I’m learning that it needs more doing to it than originally told.
There’s no water for a start. The house is connected to the water network but the taps aren’t connected to that pipe! At least I don’t think they are. The shower should be because some water drips out of it but not more than a drip! That’s a job for tomorrow though!
I’ve written a to do list, walked to the local shop and got food (and a bottle of cider!) and now I’m sat on the doorstep enjoying the sound of nature. I can do this!
Just need to figure out how I’m meant to pay for all the work now! Only just getting by in the UK with the recent increases! Time to put some of my hidden talents to use and start crafting again. I used to make a decent amount selling it and since then we’ve gained sites like Etsy and Vinted.
Been up since 4:30am and it’s now 9pm. It took me nearly 12 hours to get from my aunts to the house and since then I’ve been busy so I’m rather tired.
It’s probably too hot to sleep but I’m certainly going to try! Haven’t bought any sleeping tablets with me either so this is the true test of how I can manage without them. At home I don’t do well. Hopefully the heat and busy days here will exhaust me so much I do sleep!
