Whitelee wind farm ...

..is the largest onshore windfarm in the UK.  it's situated on Eaglesham Moor about 20 minutes drive from our home. its 215 turbines generate 539 megawatts of electricity, providing electricity for 350,000 homes.  When the children were young, it was (and is) a favourite location for a day out at the visitors' centre where lots of interesting interactive activities kept them amused for hours.  The "farm" itself is also a favourite location for walkers, runners and cyclists. It came in very useful during lockdown when we tired of pounding the streets in the town.  Our daughter is now heavily involved in off-shore wind farms ,so Whitelee was a must when a colleague visited East Kilbride for a meeting.
