Tall Ship's Crew Parade
A morning of drizzle showers, but cleared into a beautiful sunny afternoon, well in Scalloway, not Lerwick. Sunny allover this evening.
Up early, a morning of house chores. Popped down to Laura's before lunch. Headed into Lerwick for walkies this afternoon. Back to Lerwick this evening with mam, peerie Brian, mam, Laura, and met up with Julie and family down from Unst. Popped by Madeline's for a cuppa late on. Feet up now.
The Shetland Tall Ships party officially opened today. All sorts of events, live music and tours on the ships. Crowds of people everywhere, not helped with a cruise ship in too. People all ready for a party, plenty of cheery faces, and plenty of folk to chat with, including our lovely visitors. This was the opening parade with all the crew from the ships. As usual, the Indonesian Bima Suci crew put on the best show. Drums, dancing and fantastic costumes. Hard to capture the real atmosphere, but what a great event, although Sammy wasn't impressed. Taken on the Holmsgarth Road, Lerwick.
