Settling in
This is a late posting
We made good progress today. We emptied a lot more boxes and found space for a lot more stuff. Storage space is somewhat of a problem, but we’ll give it some thought, do some research and work out the best options as we don’t want to spoil the character of the house. There aren’t a lot of boxes left now, so we’ll be finished with that chore by the end of the week and the the removal company will come to pick up the empty boxes and mountains of packing paper. I got our clothes out of boxes and into the wardrobe and emptied our suitcases and put them away. MrMacD re-assembled the bed for the second bedroom and it’s now made up ready for our first guests, whoever they might be. We also managed to get a plumber to come to hook up the washing machine, which is a big step forward as there’s a pile of washing waiting to be done. The bed for the third bedroom arrived, but requires assembly, so MrMacD spent some time laying it out on the floor and trying to make sense of the instructions. Eventually he was happy with what he had to do and called it a day. We also went out to buy a microwave and managed to pay for one, but it wasn’t in store so will turn up in a couple of days.
The bread that the lovely blipper, Mima, provided has been sustaining us over the last couple of days. It’s delicious, especially spread with butter and her marmalade, or even with baked beans or banana, or with a slice or two of her Gouda cheese and homemade chutney. Such a kind and talented lady.
Today has been a good day, despite the fact that I still feel quite unwell. Tomorrow is another day!
I was about to go to bed when I realised I didn’t have a blip, so I took a couple of photos of the (organised) chaos as an emergency blip.
