Light at the End of the Tunnel

A super day despite some rain in the afternoon. We set out with the aim of viewing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (pronounce that if you can!!). This is an amazing feat of engineering taking a canal over a steep ravine!! There is very little to stop anything going over the edge. Health and Safety???
We walked along the towpath chatting to those in the canal boats... Great fun. Very difficult to get any image to show the heights involved.

We also walked through the Chirk Tunnel - about a quarter of a mile long and pitch black. We had a footpath alongside the canal so quite disorientating in the dark - there was a handrail to stop us wandering into the water! Great reflection at the end of the tunnel where Pepper posed - I think she wondered where I was.
Later, Pepper got her swim in the canal!
