Meet Chad

This is Chad, a Pygmy Shrew that visited us this morning.  He was very tiny but my goodness could he shift when he got bored of posing for me.  Pygmy shrews are the smallest mammal in the British Isles weighing in at only 2-3g.  They are not rodents but are classed as insectivores and are more closely related to hedgehogs and moles.
