Dungeons and Dragons - Choose Your Own Adventure
Orla had the lead role in this play which was written and performed by her RCS drama class. Here's a video. More detail about the script here. The performance finished at 4:30pm. We then drove all the way from Glasgow to London.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
We only stopped twice on the way, a quick stop at Annandale to pick up a coffee and a 15 minute break near Coventry. It was dark by the time we got the London and navigating to Crossharbour was the hardest part of the journey. It was 24 degrees in London, at 10:45pm, the warmest it had been during the whole journey. We met up with Grandma and Grandad who had arrived earlier in the afternoon and checked into our apartment for us.
What happened next has to be in the top 10 of things we have experienced on holiday that have gone wrong. We couldn’t get into the apartment because the door was stuck. There was a knack to turning the key to get the door open but despite trying for 20 desperate minutes it was not working. We phoned the guy who checked us in but this was at 11:15pm. It took another hour and a half of waiting in the foyer (after the six hours of driving) whilst he made his way over from Tottenham to fix it. We finally got in at 45 minutes past midnight. Stunning views over London from the 34th floor of Arena Tower.
