Eden

A 12 storey office block under construction in Salford, and built on passivhaus principles. It is said that it will have Europe’s largest green wall (I am always a little sceptical about these claims of largest, smallest, best etc, it’s often just marketing). It’s impressive, and all the plants seem to be thriving. There is a sophisticated watering system behind all this apparently, Let’s just hope the technology always works and we don’t have a water shortage in these parts !

An afternoon spent on a self-guided tour looking at the regeneration along a section of the River Irwell. I finished at Manchester Cathedral, and then (a real novelty) met up with a friend and former colleague at the Royal Exchange - pot of tea, cake, and a chat.
