Paper And Digger Wasps

I spent ages near the northerly boiler house this time last year trying to capture the tiny insect in extras. It was identified for me by an expert as a common spiny diggerwasp. I'm pleased that I've bettered my last year's image and shot one in exactly the same place.

A large wasp was bumbling about, flying with its legs dangling. I think it might be European paper wasp, possibly Polistes dominula. If so quite unusual.
