Cold Blooded
An image to freeze the blood of an arachnophobe.
This orb spider has its web right outside our front window, spotted today by J’s sister as we headed out to a local garden centre. It is reflected twice, on each pane of the double glazed window behind it.
Spiders are not warm blooded. Technically they’re not cold blooded either, as like all invertebrates their bodies contain no blood. Their body tissues contain hemolymph, which is analogous to blood but does not contain haemoglobin. But like cold blooded animals, they cannot survive cold conditions.
Thanks to the hopefully warm host of today’s challenge, Nikkimags888
