Relaxing in the garden
Lovely to have time with two of our three girls. Renata, Kalyn and I went to town. G decided to stay home and had Bill down for coffee. He arrived in time to say hello to the girls.
We scored a parking spot without having to drive around for ages - and anyone who's been in town on Saturday, market day, knows what a treat that is! We wanted to get some cheese sticks at Barb's Buns. I'd forgotten that it was closed on the weekend! R and K couldn't believe it would be closed on Saturdays when town is so packed with tourists. Tried to have breakfast at the Tree House, but we were too late for that, so we went to another small cafe called Boardwalk. Breakfast was still being served there, but there was a 25 - 30 minute wait, so we ordered takeout, wandered around until it was time to pick up the food, then found a picnic table and settled in to eat. The food was delicious and we agreed that we'd eat there again. We walked around the market and enjoyed looking at some of the stalls. Incredibly busy, so many people. Then we wandered around town and looked in some of the shops. We bumped into the woman who was Kalyn and Krista's piano teacher! She hadn't seen Kalyn for years and couldn't get over how tall she is! So fun to see her and catch up a bit. G and I went to a few of the lessons and have good memories of the teacher, a real character.
Renata's birthday is on the 26th and she spent part of her birthday money from us on a really nice blouse. We'd enjoyed an early birthday dinner last night at Auntie Pesto's, and it was great to have an unexpected chance to celebrate with her.
When we got home, we relaxed for awhile, then they helped me do a couple of things in the garden. The three of us prepared a delicious dinner with fresh homegrown veggies and G cleaned up after dinner. Teamwork always makes everything easier, and the four of us work well together.
One of the things that the girls always enjoy doing is sitting in the recliners in the garden looking at the stars. We got set up and saw a few of the stars and constellations, but some clouds moved in and it was a wee bit chilly so we didn't stay out too long. We were all tired, so off to bed we went.
They were impressed with the garden, enjoyed seeing the hummers, bees, and the gang of turkey vultures that were circling in the afternoon. There must be something dead close by and they were flying low, but we don't know where or if they found what they were after. We had hoped that the baby owls who put on a real show for G and I on Friday night would come back, but no luck.
G and I always love time with these two, lots of laughs and chit chat. Happy times!
