Skimming

The contrasting patterns of out of focus reeds and ripples on the lake surface struck me and I spent a time playing with focus and a variety of wave formations as boats came and went.

Then I noticed the swallows skimming the surface in search of insects. I decided to try catching one on a fly-by. Lots of missed attempts, they are fast.

I liked the graphic nature of the images anyway, but I thought adding the organic element, even if tiny in the frame, created something rather interesting. It's a little surprise.
