Butterflies

A fine sunny day which brought out the butterflies. We  carried out fifteen- minute surveys tor the Big Butterfly Count both in our garden and in our local wildlife area. 
There were a lot of Gatekeepers, Meadow Browns  and Small Whites, plus a few Brimstones, Peacocks, Red Admirals and Holly Blues. Additionally we spotted a Painted Lady in a local garden and this Common Blue in the wildflower meadow we created in our road this spring. 
Later, we had a fleeting glimpse of a Hummingbird Hawk-moth in our garden.
