Shadows and lines

When having coffee this morning the sun light streamed through the window and when looking up we could see shadow lines on the ceiling.

The veranda is going through a revamp, repair work was needed underneath in places, now it is ready for the decking.

The boards used on the veranda came from trees on Mull, we had the trunks delivered to Calgary where a visiting woodman with a wood miser cut them into planks. We moved them to here and stacked for a couple years to start the drying process, I think we moved each stack three times to rotate the planks.

The best wood was used for the kitchen floor, it is excellent. More was used for the small back veranda with the majority used on the area shown in the extra. I can’t remember what we paid, whatever it was it was worth it. It’s sad to see the old boards removed, it wasn’t the best in the stack although believe it has served its purpose well. No doubt most of the wood removed will be utilised elsewhere, even if it becomes kindling.
