Milk Droplets

I decided to work in a different medium today on my droplet photography session -  milk instead of water. In many ways it is easier to use than water as you do not have to thicken it up to obtain attractive collisions. However, it does have its downside. As it is opaque it needs to be lit from the front and overhead so your are more likely to have spills over electrical equipment ie. flashguns. My droplets were literally falling in between two flashguns which were only an inch or so away from the falling droplets. Luckily its extra density means that it is less likely to shoot all over the place when it collides with the water spout or another droplet and no flashguns were harmed by this procedure. The colours were obtained through coloured gels on the flashguns. The other hassle is the way each droplet tends to leave bubbles on the surface of the reservoir which have to be removed before the next shot.
