Seagulls

These two seagulls stood together for some time and I wondered if they were a couple as I knew that seagulls pair for life. When one flew off the remaining seagull did not move its focus. There was no response to the one that left. I decided to learn a bit more about seagulls.

Apparently, they are among the most intelligent birds. Of course they experience emotions and they are one of the few birds with eyes that can move in their sockets. As with many birds they can see far distances. 

I did know that they are very caring parents and share parenting duties. No wonder they stay together for life.
