Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A walk round the Links this morning with Archie, while JR went to the gym. Chrissie came back for a coffee.

We then decided to go into town to try to sort out JR's long standing phone problems. I knew where the O2 shop was on Princes Street, so we met there - I took the bus and the others walked. But the O2 shop has moved! It's now along in the St James Centre. We started to walk along there, and then came to our senses - no way do we want to go to the St James Centre on a Saturday! It would be mobbed.

So we walked down through the gardens, had an expensive ice cream, then I got the bus home while the others walked. Actually we arrived at the same time - I had a 10 minute wait.

JR went supermarket shopping, and I took Archie for a dander. We called in to Christine, to thank her again for the presents from yesterday (especially the fresh peas). And who should be there but a wee dog from a couple of doors down, Lutzie, with the lady who cares for him often. Now, Archie and Lutzie have always been pals. She never barked at him, but barked at most other passing dogs. She's 17 16 now, and a bit hard of hearing/seeing/walking/holding in her piddles. But look at that wee bright face!

Of course, I had to try for a group photo. Dougal was going crazy because I had very nice doggie treats in my pocket, and he's NOT allowed them. He was jumping around, and Archie gets annoyed, so was somewhat grumpy. I plunked him down on the sofa, thinking he'd co-operate and turn round while I got the others organised. But no.

I’ve changed this to B/W, something I never do, but the colours were really odd. Colour version in Extra.
