Start of the summer holidays

As part of the tradition we went out for dinner to celebrate the official start of the summer holidays, together with Joke and Peter.
Restaurant De Oude Rechtbank was the place to be. We started with huge portions of nachos with melted cheese and the main course were burgers, meat and so on and so on. My cheesecake dessert posed to be my blip.
No ice.

Daan didn’t come along this time. He had more important things to do. Such as his first date with Jente. They were in a restaurant approx 100 meters away from us.
Jente, from his class, is a serious candidate to become his first girlfriend. In fact, the first initiatives came from her side.

When he came home he was totally hyper and enthusiastic. All went well, messages came pouring in from all his (and her) friends. News travels fast nowadays and apparently Jente was spreading the good news herself. Haha.
A second date was already arranged.
Great stuff. For what I now know about her, Jente is a very nice girl and she’s welcome in the family. From the sideline I’m watching all this with great interest, with a gentle nudge and advice in a certain direction every now and then.
Bas is informed completely by Daan but keeps wisely silent, Annemarie is Daan’s second trust person and is informed by Daan every now and then, and I have to hear all the details from Annemarie and Bas. Not a word from Daan so far. Guess that's all part of the procedures. Daan knows that I know, and that's enough. Go for it Daan!
