The Giant Bolting Lettuce

Peter the Fireman had been called in to search for a lost cat. Plaintive miaows had been heard coming from the top of the giant bolting lettuce and no-one could help. This drone photo shows Peter just as he spotted the cat. It's thought it had gone to sleep in the giant lettuce and woken up 60 metres high up in the air as the lettuce had bolted overnight. Thank goodness for Peter, who first climbed the turntable ladder on the fire engine and then used the free standing ladder to help him cross the top leaves and avoid a potentially lethal fall between the leaves. There were no injuries to man or cat in the incident, but the cat will now only sleep inside on his owner's comfy bed!

Well, as it’s been cold and wet all day, it had to be an inside blip! I did manage to put a lawn treatment on before the rain started. Off to have a nice warm bath now - late July eh!!!
