On my table

Seeing as I'm lacking inspiration currently with my photo's, I've decided to join DancingNinja on the FatMumSlim challenge.

I'm joining the challenge a little late but rather late than never...

So todays title is "On my table" and I couldn't believe it when I looked at my dining room table and saw empty space and wood. For the first time in a long time there was nothing on my table! Normally paper, craft tools, paints, dining table mats and candle holders are on there but I must of been in a productive mood over the weekend and tidied it. Either that or I have some wonderful house elves.

This made me get creative and start thinking of what other tables I have, which is where I started to think of my beautiful and most treasured bit of furniture, my Dressing Table. When I was tiny, I remember dreaming about having a gorgeous, delicate, Victorian dressing table, with three mirrors. Not sure where I got the idea from but i'm pretty sure it has something to do with fairy tales and princess's... alas I was never able to find one that was in my price range but last year I finally got my wish when I saw an ad placed at work for a ridiculously low price, I quickly snapped it up and collected it that evening. I've stamped my own style on it, it started of white, it's now bright gem blue, with purple paper for the table top. At some point i'll get round to painting the handles gold as well..

As you can see i'm a bit of a clutter bug. Normally you wouldn't see all those nail varnishes but i'm sorting through all my colours and all the ones I've swatched and want to keep are being placed there for now.

Looking at the photo, there are so many stories to all of these objects. To go through just a few, to the top left hand corner where you can just see the start of black feathers to my masquerade ball mask - I brought for a friends birthday and vow to wear again some day as it's just far too pretty to keep shut away. To the middle right of the photo where you'll see the small white china pot (with lid) - used to be my mums, which she gave to me and I now keep all my hair grips in. Right of this you will see a small purple candle holder - this comes from my wedding, where we ordered hundreds to be placed on the tables for the reception. The lava lamp - had it since I was about 13 and came from my old room. And lastly to my most treasured item on this table (the one all the focus is on!), my little baby blue rabbit - my nana gave this to me when I was born, my very first teddy.
