British Politics

You gotta laugh!  It's British eccentricity at its best.  Not because Mr Keir Mather will become the UK's youngest MP at 25 - after winning in the Selby and Ainsty by-election last night. Or because he started studying History and Politics at Oxford in 2018. Nor is it that he is openly gay (so what!). 

It is because he was also up against  Monster Raving Loony Party's Sir Archibald Stanton, whose key policy was a ban on Greyhound racing 'to stop the country going to the dogs'!  We are used to seeing a giant Rooster from that party showing up in photos and footage as candidates standing behind elected officials. However, this time around, the world was treated to a ventriloquist dummy, talking away over the shoulder of Mather when giving his victory speech - hilarious!
