My re-purposed stone birdbath.

It’s been an in and out day for weather.
Fairly fine this morning early on, before heavy showers moved in and the temperature went down.
The cricket is still going strong at Old Trafford Manchester however so far.
Apparently plenty of sunshine up there as I am writing this and listening to the commentary on the radio.
We don’t have Sky Sports but I enjoy Test Match Special on Radio 5 Live Sports Xtra.
It has currently begun to rain again here,
I rescued a bumble bee which I spotted on the lavender after I was coming back down the garden from the summerhouse where I had been sheltering in a heavy shower. It was still and must have got cold as the temperature had dropped.
I brought it into the kitchen on a stem of lavender and gently put it on to the lavender I had cut yesterday which I had brought indoors to stand on the hearth in a vase.
It began to move eventually and I watched as it pushed its proboscis into the flower heads, to drink the nectar.
After awhile it began to move to other stems and begin to use its wings.
I carried the vase outside up to the lavender bush and he eventually left his refuge and joined a couple of other bees buzzing away. I hope he flew off with them when the next heavy shower rolled in.
On my way back down the garden I took this photo of the re-purposed birdbath I made into a miniature rock garden yesterday.
