Wild Wednesday ...

... at the Plainfield Farmer's Fair!

It has been our tradition to attend this wonderful country fair for the past several years ... we really enjoy all the sights and sounds.  We would normally go on a Thursday but the weather proved to be better for attending tonight instead.  And we had a fabulous time.

After partaking in their chicken barbecue dinner we toured through the fairgrounds.  Every year they have someone (Troy) come from the Pocono Wildlife Rehab Center with some of their ambassador animals. Pictured here are a Red-shouldered Hawk (named Rusty) and a barred owl (named Owliver).   And in the picture of the young girl is a box turtle being shown around by Troy's helper and daughter, Delaney.  The young girl was fun to watch throughout the presentation.  She wasn't squeamish with any of the animals ... including the rat snake.

We were lucky enough to be there for the final pie eating contest!  This woman didn't win but she certainly had fun ... she licked her plate clean!  And as we were leaving there were two paragliders gliding over the fairgrounds.  How fun!
